UAE-based healthcare provider Aster DM Healthcare has formalised a lease deal to build its fourth multi-speciality hospital in Bengaluru, India.

The site will have an estimated 430 beds in total, with an initial 300 beds scheduled to be in place by the end of the 2026–2027 financial year and the remaining 130 beds expected by 2028–2029.

The facility will increase Aster DM Healthcare's total bed capacity in Bengaluru to more than 2,000, making it one of the city's three largest hospital chains.

Aster DM Healthcare signed the lease arrangement with real estate developer BREN and five other individual landowners.

Business Standard reported that the lease's duration is fixed at 30 years, beginning on the official start date.

The total projected investment for the hospital is Rs4.3bn ($50.6m), which will be raised through a combination of internal financial resources and borrowed funds from banks.

Aster DM Healthcare founder and chairman Azad Moopen said: “We are delighted to share the announcement of our forthcoming 430-bed hospital in Sarjapur, a key addition to our growing network and a milestone in our Bengaluru expansion journey.

“This state-of-the-art facility is being designed to deliver world-class, patient-centric care and will cater to the rapidly growing healthcare needs of the region.

“As part of our broader vision to strengthen our footprint in key urban centres, the upcoming hospital reinforces our commitment to enhancing access to advanced medical services.”

Based in Dubai, Aster DM Healthcare offers a portfolio of specialised brands that cater to patient requirements across primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary care, as well as healthcare retailing, diagnostic labs and digital health platforms.

Last month, the company appointed Professor Turki Albacker as the new CEO of Aster Sanad Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

In this role, Albacker will be responsible for leading the hospital’s strategy, optimising its patient care and expanding its services.
