Just landed in Shanghai and checked my pollution monitoring app. Beijing comes out best of the cities I regularly track on PM2.5

Hong Kong 87 Yellow rating
Shanghai 193 Red rating
Delhi 355 Red/Black rating
Which all goes to demonstrate that the challenge in cleaning the air in China's cities is not about knowing what actions to take, it is taking the actions. Lets hope Beijing can sustain this and its lead is followed by others.
I met someone in the airport in Hong Kong today who is already seriously considering moving back to Beijing, if he sees the cleaner air trend holding up through the winter
