Newsweek, MSCI and Sustainalytics all recently acknowledged Belden’s commitment to doing business in a responsible and ethical manner.
ST. LOUIS, March 11, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Belden Inc. (NYSE: BDC), a leading global provider of complete connection solutions, is honored to announce that its sustainability initiatives have been newly acknowledged by three leaders in sustainability performance evaluation: Newsweek, MSCI and Sustainalytics.
For the second year in a row, Newsweek included Belden on its ranking of America’s Most Responsible Companies, advancing the company by 57 spots from No. 288 in 2024 to No. 231 in 2025. Every year, the list recognizes 600 corporations that demonstrate a strong commitment to integrating responsibility into core operational strategies, based on publicly available key performance indicators (KPIs) published in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports, sustainability reports and other reports.
Also, for the second year in a row, MSCI, a global agency for investment management, marked Belden with an AA rating as of November 2024. The ranking measures company management of financially relevant risks and opportunities as they relate to sustainability. It compares each company’s positioning relative to the industry average for key issues, including chemical safety, opportunities in clean tech, controversial sourcing, governance and labor management. According to MSCI, Belden’s AA rating indicates leadership in managing sustainability risks and opportunities.
Finally, analytics firm Sustainalytics awarded Belden a sustainability Risk Rating of 20.4, placing the company in the industry’s low-risk group, indicating that it has lower exposure to significant sustainability issues, such as pollution and resource depletion, poor labor practices and poor management practices. These sustainability ratings act as multidimensional assessments of exposure to industry-specific sustainability risks and how those risks are managed.
These accolades come as a direct result of Belden’s dedication to its formal sustainability program, which was established in 2021. Now, four years later, Belden is on track to accomplish the following by the end of 2025:
-
Reduce its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 25% through the completion of more than 200 projects globally at its facilities.
-
Deliver unconscious bias training to 100% of Belden team members worldwide.
-
Graduate 200 professionals from its Launch: Early Career Leadership Program and Intern Programs.
-
Achieve understanding of its Code of Conduct from 100% of global non-production team members.
