Cleveland
Ohio’s second-largest city is home to many things: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Cleveland Browns, LeBron James, as well as a population in which 190 out of every 100,000 adults become entrepreneurs in any given month. Thanks to programs like Flashstarts — a startup accelerator and micro-venture fund — as well as a rapidly improving state economy, 54.3 out of every 1,000 companies in the city are startups.
Orlando, Fla.
Orlando isn’t just home to the “Happiest Place on Earth.” This Sunshine State enclave boasts an impressive number of new businesses — nearly 106 out of every 1,000 — which makes this a hotbed for budding entrepreneurs.
San Antonio, Texas
They say everything is bigger in Texas — and that includes the number of entrepreneurs in the population. San Antonio is the second-largest city in the Lone Star State, and 380 out of every 100,000 adults starts a new business there on any given month.
