Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) New York arbitration partner Laurence Shore has left the firm to join Italian firm BonelliErede.
Shore originally joined legacy Herbert Smith in London in 1995, becoming a partner at the firm before leaving to join Gibson Dunn & Crutcher in the New York office in 2008.
He served as co-head of the US firm s international arbitration practice for five years before returning to HSF in 2013, this time in its then-new office in New York.
Shore has extensive experience representing clients in arbitrations in a variety of locations, including Geneva, Paris, London, Singapore, Cairo and New York City. He also frequently sits as an arbitrator in ICC and ICDR cases. He will join BonelliErede in its Milan office in September.
BonelliErede has also hired former partner Andrea Carlevaris after he served as secretary general of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris for five years, from 2012 to 2017. He had previously been a partner at the Italian firm between 2009 and 2012.
