OSLO (Reuters) -Tesla's sale of new cars in Norway rose by 213% in May from a year ago to 2,600 vehicles, registration data showed on Monday, boosted by a revamped Model Y compact SUV, the country's best-selling automobile in each of the last three years. Year-to-date sales rose by 8.3% from the first five months of 2024. Nine out of ten new cars sold in Norway last year were fully electric vehicles, and the EV share of sales year-to-date stands at 92.7%, the Norwegian Road Federation said, bringing it close to a goal of phasing out diesel and petrol automobiles.

NEW DELHI (Reuters) -Tesla does not want to produce cars in India, a federal minister said on Monday as the government finalised its electric vehicle policy, with the EV giant's plans currently focused on importing cars into the country. India will significantly cut import taxes for foreign automakers that pledge to invest in domestic EV production lines. The policy, which has been in the works for a year, was originally designed to attract Tesla to set up manufacturing in the country but CEO Elon Musk put his investment plans for India on hold last year.

PARIS (Reuters) -France's Sanofi has agreed to buy U.S.-based Blueprint Medicines Corporation for up to $9.5 billion to boost its position in rare immunology diseases, in the biggest deal struck by a European healthcare company so far this year, according to LSEG data. Blueprint is a specialist in treatments for systemic mastocytosis, a rare blood disorder. The two companies said on Monday that Sanofi would initially pay $129.00 per share in cash, or around $9.1 billion.
