Trump eyes Kevin Warsh for Treasury Secretary role: WSJ

A new Wall Street Journal report suggests financier Kevin Warsh is the "front-runner" for President-elect Donald Trump's Treasury Secretary position. Hoover Institution Fellow Lanhee Chen joins Catalysts to provide insights into this critical appointment.

"I think he [Trump] cares deeply about how the markets will react to this very important selection. He understands both the important substantive as well as the image-related elements of the Treasury Secretary appointment. It is probably going to be the person that is going to be the most watched appointment on his economic team," Chen told Yahoo Finance. Chen emphasizes that the ideal candidate must be well-qualified, aligned with the president's economic agenda, and serve as "a calming force to markets."

Regarding Warsh specifically, Chen describes him as "an outstanding choice" who "understands the issues" associated with the role, while possessing a good understanding of market dynamics.
