Wall Street came back from the long weekend ready to buy after President Trump’s temporary walk-back of European Union tariff threats gave traders a green light to buy pretty much everything. The Nasdaq Composite led the way with a 2.4% gain, but the broader S&P 500 wasn’t far behind with a gain of 2%. The Dow jumped 714 points, or 1.7%.
