AXA XL Insurance has named Sylvie Gleises as its new regional CEO for Asia, based in Singapore.
Gleises, who has more than 20 years of experience, will assume the role on 24 March.
In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing the company's operations and strategic direction across the region, the company said.
She will succeed Gilles Fromageot, who has moved on to become the CEO of AXA Morocco and CIMA.
Alongside her new regional role, she will continue in her position as CEO of AXA XL Singapore.
Gleises' tenure at AXA Group began in 2006. Her previous positions include serving as CEO of Continental Europe and global head of distribution & marketing at AXA Art.
She has also led initiatives as head of revenue synergies and head of client management at AXA XL.
AXA XL APAC & Europe regional CEO Xavier Veyry said: "Sylvie’s extensive strategic vision, proven leadership and industry expertise make her the ideal choice to drive AXA XL’s continued growth in Asia.
“I am confident that under her leadership, we will further strengthen our position as a trusted partner, delivering tailored solutions that support our clients and brokers across the region."
Last month, AXA XL appointed Simon Rees as its chief underwriting officer for North America Programmes, starting 1 April 2025.
