Dec. 21—Chickasha City Council approved a Central Business District Building grant and qualifications for grants earlier this week.
The discussion took place at the Chickasha City Council meeting on Monday night.
The purpose of the Central Business District Building grants is to encourage property owners in the central business and historic district to make improvements to properties used for retail trade producing sales or use tax dollars for the City of Chickasha, according to city documents.
A $25,333 grant was awarded to GPP Development for 301 W. Chickasha Ave. This location is currently occupied by Wild Ox Axe Throwing.
Chickasha City Council also approved qualifications for grants for three properties being developed downtown. This action did not approve distribution of funds at this time, rather recognizing that these properties met qualifications.
Alora Real Estate met grant qualifications for their property at 411 W. Chickasha Ave. The Chickasha City Council also approved qualifications for two properties submitted by Oh Hitt Corporation: the former Savoy Hotel at 102. W. Chickasha Ave and the former Mill Building at 105 E. Chickasha Ave.
