Mar. 16—Clinton has shown up in rankings by Site Selection Magazine, an internationally circulated business publication covering corporate real estate and economic development.
The rankings, which include all metro regions along the Mississippi River Corridor, are based on corporate facility investment projects that meet specific criteria. Projects that qualified between July 2022 and December 2023 had at least $1 million invested, at least 20 new jobs created, or at least 20,000 new square feet of operational space.
Clinton ranked number four with total projects per capita. Projects included:
—a $308 million investment at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) with the construction of a new corn wetmill;
—an $18 million investment from Merrill Steel in the former TMK IPSCO plant located in Camanche;
—the upcoming construction of $224 million state-of-the-art asphalt shingle manufacturing plant by Atlas Roofing Corporation in the Lincolnway Industrial Rail and Air Park;
—Big River Packaging's 2022 $6 million facility expansion; and
—Nestlé Purina Petcare Company's $156 million in manufacturing and warehousing advancements.
Clinton tied for 10th in total projects along the entire Mississippi River Corridor.
"We often find ourselves future-focused and don't frequently stop to reflect on our many successes," stated Andy Sokolovich, president and CEO at Grow Clinton. "I want to thank Site Selection Magazine for recognizing the Greater Clinton Region and forcing us to pause and acknowledge everything we have accomplished. I especially want to extend my appreciation to those companies that understand the value of doing business in our communities and continue to invest in their growth and development. None of these projects would have been possible without strong local, regional, and state partnerships."
