CRIS Rural Mass Transit CEO resigns

Oct. 14—CRIS Rural Mass Transit District (CRIS), a leading organization dedicated to providing transportation solutions for the Vermilion County community, announced the resignation of CEO Nicole Dowling.

Dowling, who assumed the role in February 2021, will be transitioning to a new position as the executive director of Family Service of Champaign County, effective Nov. 13, 2023.

CRIS Rural Mass Transit is committed to meeting the transportation needs of the community, particularly older adults, and individuals with disabilities.

The CRIS Rural Mass Transit Board of Directors expresses its gratitude for Dowling's dedicated service and hard work during her tenure as CEO.

Under her leadership, CRIS Rural Mass Transit has made significant progress in improving the transportation infrastructure in Vermilion County.

As CRIS Rural Mass Transit looks toward the future, the board of directors is actively preparing to commence a thorough search for a new CEO. The organization aims to find a visionary leader who can build upon progress thus far and guide the district's growth and adaptability to the evolving transportation landscape in Vermilion County, which is expected to undergo significant changes in July 2024.

Dowling will play a pivotal role in the search process over the next 30 days, assisting the board in identifying the right candidate who will uphold the organization's mission and continue to serve the community with excellence.
