Earthquake of magnitude 6.3 strikes off northeast Papua New Guinea

SYDNEY, Dec 1 (Reuters) - A powerful earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck Papua New Guinea on Thursday, several global monitoring groups said.

The quake hit at 0250 GMT at a depth of 60 km (37 miles), according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
