Hellenic Cables, the cable division of Cenergy Holdings, has secured a contract to supply inter-array cables for Leading Light Wind, a 2.4GW US offshore wind project.
Hellenic will deliver 65km of 132kV cables, essential to meet the project’s total inter-array cable needs.
The cable delivery is expected for 2030, with the manufacture of specific components beginning in autumn 2024 at the Hellenic Cables' facility in Corinth, Greece.
Cenergy Holdings CEO Alexis Alexiou stated: “We are honoured to collaborate with Leading Light Wind on this landmark project, which strengthens the US offshore wind supply chain.
“Our contribution to the Leading Light Wind project underscores Hellenic Cables’ commitment to providing pioneering solutions that support the energy transition and enhance sustainability on a global scale.”
Leading Light Wind project is located more than 40 miles offshore New Jersey shoreline, and is a joint venture between Invenergy and energyRe.
It is the only American-led initiative in the New York Bight lease area.
The green energy generated by the offshore wind facility will power one million homes annually while displacing four million tonnes of carbon emissions.

“This partnership marks an exciting milestone for Leading Light Wind and will enable innovation and efficiency in our project design.”
In January 2024, Hellenic was awarded a contract to supply inter-array cables for the Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III offshore wind farms in Poland.
