Global hospitality company Hilton has revealed plans to launch its NoMad-branded hotel in Singapore, expanding its luxury lifestyle segment in Asia Pacific (APAC).
The company will establish the brand’s presence by leveraging regional expertise of Singapore-based property and hospitality group UOL Group.
UOL Group CEO Liam Wee Sin said: “We are excited to introduce NoMad to Singapore as part of our placemaking vision for Orchard Road, alongside UOL’s upcoming private and exclusive preview of its luxury residential project, UPPERHOUSE at Orchard Boulevard, and the award-winning Pan Pacific Orchard, forming a trio that will contribute to the transformation of Orchard Road.”
NoMad Singapore is scheduled to open its doors in early 2027.
Hilton Asia Pacific president Alan Watts said: “This signing adds a new and significant dimension to Hilton’s phenomenal growth story in Asia Pacific, as we gain a critical foothold in the luxury lifestyle space.”
The NoMad hotel in Singapore, which follows the opening of NoMad London in 2021, will feature 173 bedrooms, with local artworks adorning each guest room.
It aims to offer experiences tailored to each location focused on personalised service, design, dining, and cultural programming.
Located on the Orchard Road, the hotel will provide guests with access to Singapore's shopping and entertainment areas, as well as cultural venues such as Arab Street, Bugis, and Chinatown.
In April 2024, Hilton acquired a controlling stake in Sydell Group, the owner of the NoMad brand, to support the global expansion of the portfolio.
Sydell Group founder and CEO Andrew Zobler said: “This debut is just the beginning as we seek out the best destinations to introduce NoMad, with several deals in advanced discussions in destinations in North America, Europe and beyond.”
Hilton's expansion in the Asia Pacific includes plans to grow its luxury hotel presence to 150 properties in the region over the coming years.
In addition to the NoMad hotel, Hilton is set to launch several Waldorf Astoria properties across Asia, including locations in Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Tokyo, Xi'an, and Hanoi.
Conrad Hotels & Resorts, another Hilton brand, is also expanding with new properties in China and Japan.
Hilton recently introduced LXR Hotels & Resorts to Southeast Asia, adding to its extensive global luxury portfolio, which now boasts over 500 properties.
Hilton's portfolio includes 24 brands with over 8,600 properties in 139 countries and territories.
