R. David Banyard -- President Cheaf Executive Officer and Director

Thanks Monica. Good morning everyone and thank you for joining us. We're going to start on slide three with a review of the second quarter. As an overview I'm pleased with the execution in the quarter from our organization. Further to our execution though we're seeing some market headwinds that are affecting our top line and we'll talk more about that as we go through our presentation. To start our review let's talk about the execution we had in the second quarter. Distribution segment transformation remains on track as sales increased year-over-year the third consecutive quarter and adjusted EBITDA grew by 16%. Growth in Distribution was broad-based including in a variety of digital channels although those are in the early stages.
