Nuveen Preferred Securities Closed-End Funds Announce Proposed Merger

NEW YORK, March 19, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Boards of Trustees of Nuveen Preferred Securities & Income Opportunities Fund (NYSE: JPI) and Nuveen Preferred & Income Opportunities Fund (NYSE: JPC) have approved a proposal to merge the funds. The proposed merger, if approved by shareholders, would combine JPI into JPC. The merger is intended to create a larger fund with lower net operating expenses and increased trading volume on the exchange for common shares.

The proposed merger of the funds is subject to certain customary closing conditions, including necessary shareholder approvals. Detailed information on the proposed merger will be contained in proxy materials expected to be filed in the coming weeks.
