SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 21, 2017) - Nyotron, the creator of threat-agnostic security, today announced that it will demonstrate its flagship PARANOID platform and Nyotron War Room at Black Hat USA 2017, held July 22-27th at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. Both PARANOID and Nyotron War Room represent the industry's first and only endpoint security approach designed to block all advanced cyber attacks, regardless of the type of attack, threat vector or attack methodology. Thus far, Nyotron is the only known endpoint solution on the market that can protect against undiscovered and unknown malware.
"For organizations, especially those with a target painted on their backs, trying to stop every manner of attacks is futile due to the immense volume of malware being produced today coupled with the increased sophistication of those attacks," said Nir Gaist, co-founder and CTO of Nyotron. "Security vendors who say they protect against ransomware and other advanced threats are not telling their customers the whole story. Most security vendors that say they have a solution protecting against the latest malware can only protect against known variants of the malware. Unfortunately, antivirus technologies are often antiquated and ineffective, as they can't keep up with the overwhelming volume of continually evolving and mutating threats."
Another industry secret is that most network security vendors marketing "next-generation" technology are really updated versions of a 30-year-old approach that simply places another gate in front of the attackers. Nyotron turns this antiquated approach on its head, flipping the attention from chasing threats to outright preventing them from touching organizational data.
Nyotron will demonstrate this new, threat agnostic defense to the greater security community at the show.
What: At its booth (#748), Nyotron will demonstrate two live hacks that highlight the effectiveness and uniqueness of PARANOID over other endpoint security technologies, while providing a high-level explanation of Threat-Agnostic Defense -- a critical security technology in the fight against cyberattacks.
The first live hack will showcase a ransomware attack on a system that does not have PARANOID installed. The test will then be rerun with PARANOID installed to effectively show that the Nyotron's threat agnostic defense approach is one of the few techniques that can stop all sophisticated threats, even the most aggressive versions of ransomware.
The second live hack involves a rubber ducky, a USB device that looks like a USB flash drive, but is actually a computer keyboard. While most operating systems or device control solutions can be configured to block access to USB devices that are plugged into them, all allow keyboards, which makes this device a favorite among hackers. Nyotron is the only security company that can stop a rubber ducky attack.
