The Trantolo & Trantolo personal injury firm co-sponsored the third annual Ride and Concert July 9, raising nearly $200,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) of Connecticut and bringing total donations to more than $450,000 to date.
Held at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, the event drew more than 1,000 motorcycle riders and thousands more country music fans to attend a concert featuring Billy Currington, A Thousand Horses and the Arizona Maid Band.
Motorcyclists were accompanied by Connecticut State Police motorcycle troopers, who escorted groups of riders to the event.
Before country star Currington's performance, arena lights went down, and attendees had an opportunity to see firsthand the children and families their donations support. A video of an MDA Summer Camp program played on the big screen, and two children affected by MDA, Marley and Zeke, were introduced to the crowd.
"I want to thank you all once again," said attorney Keith Trantolo. "We do make a difference, each one of us coming here every year."
"The reason we're here today is to help a great organization in the MDA," added Scott Trantolo. "They work tirelessly to stamp out these horrific diseases and once again, we really appreciate each and every dollar we raise that goes directly to the MDA."
Longtime partner Vincent Trantolo thanked the many participating volunteers. "And finally, I'd just like to say I've never been on a stage like this before! For all of you who want to be, it's terrific!"
