Update: SpaceX has delayed the launch until Sunday morning at the earliest.
SpaceX is scheduled to launch a piece of NASA technology into space Saturday that will test out a new type of navigation system.
The module, dubbed the “three-eyed Raven” (a nod to the bird from Game of Thrones) is a step toward NASA’s hope of building satellites that will be able to refuel and fix other space probes, the Verge reports.
The three-eyed Raven, which is being launched on SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, is going to test out a new navigation system that could more precisely direct satellites in space, potentially with enough precision that a repair satellite would be able to autonomously maneuver over to the other satellites in need.
The launch is scheduled for 10:01 am E.T. from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. You can watch it live above.
