TAIPEI (Reuters) -Taiwan's Foxconn will soon announce a second Japanese auto partner, Chairman Young Liu said on Thursday, as the company best known as Apple's main iPhone maker continues its diversification push. "There are two Japanese automakers; one has already been announced, and the other is almost ready to be," Liu said at the company's annual shareholders meeting, without elaborating. Foxconn subsidiary Foxtron Vehicle Technologies and Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors this month signed a memorandum of understanding for the supply of an electric vehicle model.

HONG KONG (Reuters) -Taiwan's Foxconn is among potential bidders for the Singaporean semiconductor assembly and testing business UTAC Holdings in a deal that could value the company at about $3 billion, two people with knowledge of the matter said. UTAC's owner, Beijing-based private equity firm Wise Road Capital, has hired Jefferies to run a sale process and is expecting to field non-binding bids by end of this month, the sources said. Apple supplier Foxconn will invest $1.5 billion in its India unit, the company said in a filing, as the iPhone maker shifts more manufacturing out of tariff-hit China. Foxconn's Singapore-based subsidiary will buy 12.77 billion shares worth 10 rupees apiece, amounting to 127.74 billion rupees ($1.50 billion) in Yuzhan Technology India, according to the London Stock Exchange filing. Yuzhan Technology India, Foxconn's unit in Tamil Nadu, manufactures electronic components and also assembles Apple's iPhones.
