Plug Power Chief Financial Officer Paul Middleton just bought a large block of shares of the hydrogen-technology company, which looks set to fall by double digits for a fourth consecutive year. Laws passed years ago under the Biden administration were supposed to help clean-energy companies like Plug Power, but a slow rollout of subsidies and weak demand have taken their toll. Earlier this month, the Trump administration’s Energy Department canceled more than $3.7 billion of grants for clean-energy and climate projects, hitting shares of Plug Power and its peers.
