US stock futures are higher right now, holding onto some slight gains this morning across the Dow, the S&P 500, and the NASDAQ. Trade talks between US officials and Chinese officials are underway in London as the two nations look to build on a truce brokered back in May. The talks were announced last week after a long anticipated phone call between President Trump and China's Xi Jinping. US Treasury Secretary, Scott Beasant, and the Commerce Secretary, Howard Letnik, and Trade Representative, Jameson Greer, will meet with Chinese officials in the Monday meeting. China's exports of rare earth minerals are expected to take center stage at the London meeting. Earlier this month, the two nations brokered a deal to drastically roll back tariffs, but China's control over the rare materials and current limits on China's access to US semiconductors emerged as sticking points. The meeting expected to extend into the evening and possibly last through Tuesday according to Bloomberg.
