Time now for to watch Friday, May 23rd. We're going to start off on the housing front. We're getting some fresh housing data in the morning with new home sales. Connors forecasting sales in April to come in at an annualized rate of 695,000. That is compared to 724,000 in March, signaling a weakening demand and sales amid elevated mortgage rates and affordability pressure.
Taking a look at the Federal Reserve, another round of Fed commentary coming throughout the day. We've got Fed Governor Lisa Cook, Kansas City Fed President, Jeffrey Schmidt, as well. This coming after comments in this week from Fed Vice Chair, Philip Jefferson, who said that Fed policy is in a quote, very good place, and the Fed can be patient with interest rate policy.
And finally, big moment for Paramount and IMAX this weekend. Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning is releasing in theaters tomorrow. The latest movie, which was filmed for IMAX screens, is the eighth installment in Paramount's flagship franchise.
